Palin Unelectable?

The notion that Governor Palin is unelectable is false. In today’s political environment the country is divided. Democratic voters will vote for the Democratic nominee, in this case, the President. Republican voters will vote for the Repubican nominee. The only question is who will be the Republican nominee. If the nominee is Governor Palin, she will have no problem getting Republicans to vote for her in huge numbers; and in consideration of the electoral map, she will have no problem winning every state won by President Bush twice.

The Palin Factor

Former Govenor Sarah Palin can beat President Obama. Latest polls show her 12 points down, and her support among Republican voters will grow, as she unfolds an aggressive campaign about the truth of her record, and articulates her policy postions, as she has been doing for in excess of the last year on her Facebook page, and numerous policy speeches here and abroad.

A Nation's Foundation

During his 1st Inaugural Address, Abraham Lincoln said, "Intelligence, patriotism, Christianity, and a firm reliance on Him who has never yet forsaken this favored land are still competent to adjust in the best way all our present difficulty."

Friends, we must stop allowing the denigration and removal of Christianity in this country. As Andrew Jackson said, "The Bible is the Rock on which this Republic rests." It was Christianity which influenced and shaped the foundational principles of this nation; its form of government; and its major institutions. As Charles Spurgeon said, "Where there is Protestantism, there is liberty."

Time for A New Birth of Freedom

It appears that we may be at the crossroads. Either this nation will be one nation under God, or become a nation under men. Time for choosing permanent sides - no more middle ground. Either you believe in state control of the people, or you believe in liberty and individual rights.

The Framers knew what they stood for and why; Abraham Lincoln knew as well; as did John Kennedy; and Ronald Reagan. Either we begin to elect statesmen, or we descend into the annuls of history. This nation is still ruled by the people. The people have one last chance if this bill passes - Election Day November 2010.

Reconciliation - Smoke and Mirrors

If the House Democrats who originally voted “no” on Health Care Reform, are sold by the President on changing their vote to “yes,” with the understanding that the bill will be sent to the Senate to “fix” it, they are being sold a multi-trillion dolllar bill of goods!

Of Natural Disasters

In the aftermath of a great natural disaster, whether a tsunami, or an earthquake, which recently occurred in Haiti, and now Chile, people inevitably raise questions about why God would allow such tragedies which cause mass destruction of property and often death and casualties in the tens of thousands. Many people are inclined to assign blame to God, as though such events are tantamount to murder.

Luck? Or the Grace of God?

A failed terrorist attack was perpetrated Christmas Day, on-board Northwest-Delta flight 253, carrying almost 300 people, during its final descent into metropolitan Detroit. Had this dastardly attack upon innocent American men, women, and children succeeded, in all likelihood scores of other deaths would have occurred, as a consequence of the falling aircraft breaking apart hurling hulks of steel and jet fuel toward the unsuspecting city populace, striking occupied homes, buildings, and vehicles, causing catastrophic destruction, fires, and loss of life.

Averting Doom

I must say, as a Christian, recent health care legislation developments, though gravely disappointing, and grievous, are not surprising. As we all know, most of our elected representatives, are ruled by their own self-serving interests, and not that of the public good. Our citizens do not trust elected leaders for good reason - evidentiary corruption.

Sarah’s Selfless Act

Governor Sarah Palin recently announced that she would not seek another term in office, and subsequently tendered her resignation, effective in approximately two weeks. Since this past Friday, speculation continues about the underlying reasons for her decision. Such speculation has ranged from concern for the well-being of her family, to accumulating legal debt, to stress caused by efforts to disparage and demean her, and her family’s character. All of these possibilities are credible within the context of modern day political rationale.

A Political Inquiry

I am curious, and plead for an answer to this question, to wit: why are members of the Democratic party so politically aggressive and forceful, and members of the Republican party so politically timid? I am neither a Democrat nor Republican, and have been a registered independent for 20 years.
